KLM Secures rights on Harare-Lusaka sector



 
As of March 14 2013, KLM begins carrying passengers for those travelling on Harare – Lusaka sector only, as the Skyteam member secured local traffic rights. KLM operates Amsterdam – Harare–Lusaka – Amsterdam service 3 times a week, on board Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Schedule effective 01APR13 as follow:
KL523 AMS1020 – 2025HRE2130 – 2240LUN2350 – 0945+1AMS 332 246

KLM Seasonal Change to Harare/Lusaka


KLM is adjusting its schedule for the AMS-HRE-LUN-AMS route. From April 2nd 2013 until October 26th 2013, KLM passengers will no longer disembark in Lusaka enroute to Amsterdam from Harare. Passengers will remain on board the aircraft for the 70-minute layover in Lusaka.

KLM Resuming Flights to Harare

 KLM starting October 29 2012 is resuming flights to Zimbabwe with service to Harare operating 3 times a week. KLM last operated its own aircraft into Harare in late October 1999, with twice weekly AMS-JNB-HRE service. The airline will operate this route in conjunction with Lusaka, as AMS-HRE-LUN-AMS, with Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Flight KL523 will be operated on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing from Schiphol at 10.20 hrs and arriving in Harare on the same day at 21.25 hrs. The return leg of the circle trip has the same number, KL523, leaving Harare at 22.30 hrs the same day, with an intermediate landing in Lusaka. The flight arrives in Amsterdam the following morning at 10.20 hrs. KLM will also offer eleven weekly services to Harare via Nairobi in cooperation with Kenya Airways, which is undergoing rapid development in terms of fleet expansion and new destinations. Additional SAA capacity to Harare


South African Airways will be increasing capacity on their Friday afternoon flights to Harare starting January 20th using wide-body A330-200 a/c. According to www.flysaa.com the capacity increase on flight SA28/29 will last until the 24th of February before they revert back to A319 a/c. SAA also increased capacity on Thursdays using wide-body a/c for the midday flights.

SAA increases Harare capacity


South African Airways has increased capacity to Harare by introducing wide-body A330-200 and A340-300 on their Thursday morning flight to Harare. The introduction of wide-body aircraft increases seat capacity to 96 from the Boeing 737-800 which was previously used on this route. SA22 departs Johannesburg at 10.30am arriving in Harare at 12.10pm then the return departs Harare at 1.20pm arriving back in Johannesburg at 3.10pm.
