Additional SAA capacity to Harare


South African Airways will be increasing capacity on their Friday afternoon flights to Harare starting January 20th using wide-body A330-200 a/c. According to www.flysaa.com the capacity increase on flight SA28/29 will last until the 24th of February before they revert back to A319 a/c. SAA also increased capacity on Thursdays using wide-body a/c for the midday flights.

Air Zimbabwe receives first Airbus A320


Pictured above in the hanger at Harare International Airport, it looks like Air Zimbabwe's much talked about acquisition of Airbus aircraft has finally arrived. Supposedly the first of four aircraft which is expected to be delivered but no word yet on dates or aircraft type. It will be interesting to see if this can help the struggling airline which is in serious debt. Will keep you informed about this development.

Air Namibia to Launch Harare service

Air Namibia is returning to Harare after a 13 year absence. The airline will commence 4 weekly flights between Windhoek and Harare on April 01, 2012 using an Embraer ERJ-135. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday the flight will depart Windhoek at 8.10am arriving in Harare at 11.25am. The return will depart at 12.05pm arriving in Windhoek at 13.20pm.

Ethiopian Airlines Splits Harare & Lusaka service


Ethiopian Airlines has split its service to Harare and Lusaka on the Boeing 767-300ER. The new service will depart ADD at 9.20am arriving in HRE at 12.45pm then the return will depart HRE at 2.40pm arriving in ADD at 7.55pm on board Boeing 737-800.

SAA increases Harare capacity


South African Airways has increased capacity to Harare by introducing wide-body A330-200 and A340-300 on their Thursday morning flight to Harare. The introduction of wide-body aircraft increases seat capacity to 96 from the Boeing 737-800 which was previously used on this route. SA22 departs Johannesburg at 10.30am arriving in Harare at 12.10pm then the return departs Harare at 1.20pm arriving back in Johannesburg at 3.10pm.

Emirates set for Harare


Emirates inaugural flight to Harare is set for February 1st, 2012. The airline will serve Harare via Lusaka 5 times a week using airbus A330-200 with first, business and economy class available. EK 713 will depart Dubai on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0925hrs, arriving in Lusaka at 1450hrs. The service will depart Lusaka at 1620hrs, arriving in Harare at 1720. The return flight EK 714 leaves Harare at 1920, arriving in Lusaka at 2020. It departs Lusaka at 2150 and lands in Dubai at 0710hrs the next day. The flight has fifth freedom rights between Harare and Lusaka and plans are to have separate flights to Harare and Lusaka from Dubai in the future.
